Moving Shadow exists to make professional-grade security accessible to the organizations that need it most and can afford it least. We provide field-tested standard operating procedures, templates, and policies — covering both physical and digital security — built on established humanitarian and press-freedom standards (UNDSS, GISF, RSF) and adapted for NGOs, human rights defenders, and environmental organizations. These groups increasingly face capable adversaries, from hostile governments to well-resourced corporations, yet most operate without dedicated security staff. Our mandate is to close that gap: to put the security practices of large international organizations into the hands of small teams, at a price any organization can justify, so that the people protecting communities, rights, and the environment can protect themselves.
